Akvan
A gym identity drawn from the Shahnameh, where strength is rebuilt as a modern mythic mark.
In the heart of ancient legends, Akvan stands as a symbol of strength and challenge — a place where willpower rises against hardship. Born from the epic tales of the Shahnameh, the name now represents a gym where strength, endurance and determination come to life.
The identity was built backwards from that myth: research into Ferdowsi's demon, a character redrawn as a modern geometric emblem, and a system of sharp edges and bold lines that carries through signage, packaging and print.
Why Akvan?
Akvan was developed around a simple idea: training is not only about physical strength, but about discipline, awareness and continuous growth.
The challenge was to translate this philosophy into an identity that felt powerful and contemporary without relying on the visual cliches of the fitness industry. The goal was a system that could communicate strength through structure, restraint and a strong sense of character.
From Concept to Form
The identity takes its visual language from the ideas of strength, control and challenge.
The logo and supporting graphic elements are built around sharp edges, strong lines and angular geometry. These forms create a sense of precision and physical strength while giving the identity a distinctive and recognisable character.
Geometry became more than a visual device. It became the structural foundation of the system, creating a tension between stability and movement that reflects the role of challenge in personal transformation.
Rather than treating each element independently, the identity was designed as a cohesive visual system that could consistently carry the character of Akvan across different applications.
Colour, Type & Visual Expression
The palette was intentionally reduced to three core tones: an earthy warm shade, black and white.
The earthy tone connects the identity to Akvan's mythological roots, bringing a raw and grounded quality to an otherwise sharp and structured system. Black introduces weight and intensity, reinforcing the disciplined and uncompromising character of the brand.
White creates contrast and space. Its presence keeps the identity clean and contemporary, allowing the stronger visual elements to remain focused and impactful. Together, the palette balances something ancient and rooted against something modern and controlled.
Typography and the supporting graphic elements follow the same principle: clarity, structure and restraint. Every element works toward a visual language that feels confident without becoming excessive.
The Philosophy Behind the Brand
Akvan positions itself as more than a conventional fitness club. Its approach is built around the idea that physical development becomes meaningful when combined with knowledge, discipline and guidance.
This idea of mentorship became an important part of the brand's character. Training is presented not simply as a physical activity, but as a process — one that requires challenge, consistency and direction.
The final identity translates that philosophy into a system that feels strong, disciplined and purposeful while leaving room for growth. Akvan is ultimately built around three ideas: challenge, mentorship and transformation.
